Hi,
I am trying to find my way about this forum. Coming late to the computer age, I battle.
The name is Paul and I think I am already listed somewhere. I described elsewhere how the pp arnold song "The time has come" has haunted me on and of for 40 years. It came to encapsulate all the experiences I enjoyed when making my first trip to America in the late sixties. I was in the British Merchant Navy at the time and for several years coasted the US seaboard. That song is ever in my mind when I recall those days. I found out from Liz McClean that it was still available and sent to England { I think '] for a copy. It took 31/2 months and I just received it yesterday. Made me feel quite choky when I heard it again after so many years. Still magic. My wife refers to it as "that screechy song' i,

My wife refers to it as "that screechy song' [ I think she is trying to tell me something] and perhaps I have been overplaying it. I would like to get the lyrics for the song as it is difficult to make them all out. Any ideas?

Welcome to the club, Paul
I'm also an absolute beginner on PC. For you experienced merchantman it should be easy, to ride this storm:
....all hands on deck, we've run affloat......
Please feel comfortable on this board; when you enter, there's a friendly face, see! I've been to other sites (Burdon or Corrs)
there it was not a great pleasure for guys like us;can't handle all those smileys and abbrevations they use, failed when posting.
So,I always enjoy it here; a quiet nice place to be.
For new members they roll out the red carpet, as you see on Liz McLean's efforts. Please take notice, her nickname McClean
is only used when she had to wipe out the errors caused by me.
Did you already check out the Jukebox here ?(upper-right icon)
You will discover many a great song, some appealing to the Sixties. We may be aged, but when it comes to music, we spring to life, right?

Thanks Martin,
I don't usually go in for this kind of thing and it is mildly intimidating. Although I did once join a forum [ now defunct ] of the Sacromento Bee. I was quite suprised [reading the blurb on "The First Cut" ]to see that Pat got her start In England and that my favourite of her songs ,which reminds me so much of America because it was popular at that time and I used to listen to it on my radio, was written by Enhanks Martin,

While Pat was wowing Blighty, I was coasting America. Interesting. Thanks again for the welcome.
Paul.
